Single or double hook # 2-6. Long shank  hook.

Flat + fine + medium oval silver tinsel 

Orange Berlin wool

Black heron

Bronce mallard

Tying instruction

 

 

Fix the hook in the vice

 

Tie in the fine oval tinsel

 

Tie in the hackle at the root end. Fix the medium tinsel on the opposite side and flat at the bottom

 

Bring the thread to the eye of the hook

 

Dub the thread with Berlin wool

 

Lay on the first layer of dubbing

 

Dub the second layer

 

Turn the flat tinsel

 

Turn the medium oval tinsel

 

Turn the hackle behind the medium oval tinsel

 

Turn the fine tinsel through the hackle

 

Turn down the fibres

 

Tie in the wings

 

Form the head

 

The finish fly as have to be lacquered
